Kajiado County, situated in the southern part of Kenya, stretches from the edges of Nairobi down to the border with Tanzania. Its map reveals a territory filled with vast plains, rolling hills, and significant natural attractions like Amboseli National Park, famous for its wildlife. The map points out major towns like Kajiado Town, which serves as the county’s capital, alongside rapidly expanding areas like Kitengela and Ongata Rongai, thanks to their closeness to Nairobi. The region’s landscape blends urban development with rural settings, where the savannahs support the Maasai people and diverse wildlife.

Administratively, Kajiado is split into five segments: Kajiado North, Central, East, West, and South. Each serves as its administrative hub, with Kajiado North being notably urban, whereas Kajiado South includes the renowned Amboseli National Park. These divisions are essential for managing local affairs, distributing resources, and fostering growth. The map outlines essential transport links, such as the route from Nairobi to Tanzania via Namanga, and notes landmarks, places for tourism, and economic ventures like livestock rearing and trade in urban centers like Kitengela and Ongata Rongai.

In the meticulous process of mapping Kajiado County, the expertise of surveyor M.N Omosa has been indispensable. His contributions ensure that the map accurately reflects the complex topography and land use patterns, providing invaluable data for both development planning and conservation efforts in the region.
