Daniel Jumah heads our Intellectual Property department. He has advanced IP law since qualifying as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2017. He holds an LLB from Moi University. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Jumah focused on IP and innovation law. He honed his research and litigation skills in many specialized areas. They include industrial property law, image rights, domain names, seeds, plant breeder’s rights, and GMOs. His expertise also covers copyright, e-commerce, biotech, and anti-counterfeit work. These are vital in today’s global marketplace.
Jumah’s vast experience lets him navigate complex IP protection for a diverse clientele. He has helped clients secure various intellectual property rights. These include trademarks, service marks, collective marks, and certification marks. They include industrial designs, patents, utility models, and plant breeder rights. His skills in local registration with KIPI and regional processing with ARIPO show his commitment to IP management. He also gives key advice on getting international protection through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
His services are multifaceted. They include licensing and franchising agreements, domain name disputes, and know-how transfers. He also drafts agreements to transfer intellectual property rights. Jumah is skilled at handling trademark infringement and passing off cases. He also manages trademark expungement and opposition proceedings.
